A Haven for Shadow Priest new and old

Sometime this week or so the next Patch is set to release. What does this mean for Shadow Priest you may ask? Hopefully if all test realm notes are carried over, alot of Buffs are finally coming our way. Seems like ages since we got Buffed during a patch. Here are the notes as of now....Fingers Crossed:


•Improved devouring plague now deals 10/20/30% of its total periodic effect instantly, up from 5/10/15%.

•Mind flay range has been increased to 30 yards, up from 20.

•Shadowform now also causes devouring plague, and vampiric touch to benefit from haste, reducing the tick intervals and overall duration of the spells. It has also had its mana cost reduced to 13% down from 32%.

•Vampiric embrace now provides a 30-minute buff that cannot be dispelled, instead of a target debuff, but only generates healing for single-target shadow damage spells

•Glyph of mind flay now increases the damage done by Mind Flay by 10 per cent when the target is afflicted with shadow word: pain.

•Glyph of shadow word: pain now causes the spell to restore 1% of the priest's base mana each tick.

•Glyph of shadow now causes non-periodic spell critical strikes to increase spell power by 30%, up from 10%, of the priest's total spirit for 10 seconds.

Basically as of now these are all DPS increases. The SW:P mana rejuv is exciting as i'm sure it will at least make the mana rejuv from VT feel measurable, but i'm not sure if it will be enough to prevent total mana loss from having to constantly recast DP and VT more often due to being affected by haste. Mind Flay hopefully will get the range increase which might make it one of the longest ranged DPS attacks in the game...nice change from being one of the shortest as of now. The VE buff change will be fun to play with now. Seems like having to constantly cast on groups of MOBs takes too much time. Changed to a 30 self buff should save time and increase our focus on just doing what we are suppose to do...DPS.

But as I said these are just test realm notes so dont start counting your chickens yet. Da Blizz i think secretly hates all priest in the game as years of neglect have shown...
